One of the homegrown DJs we’re most excited about playing this year’s Sunsplash, Benji B has long been a great club DJ but now he’s advanced to the ranks of Radio 1 he’s been able to showcase his passion for the latest next level dubplates to a broader church, debuting new releases from the likes of Burial, James Blake, Floating Points and the new school of UK electronic music.

To celebrate the smile inducing thought of kicking back on the Turkish coast, cocktail in hand, soaking up the vibes, we bring you the third in our appetite-whetting and totally exclusive Sunplash DJ mixes. And this one’s a corker, courtesy of Moscow’s Headz.FM founding member Ilya Rasskazov…
A community of DJs, producers and music-lovers, Headz.FM have long pushed an eclectic selection of deep & soulful mixture of future jazz, funk & soul, broken beats, afrobrazilian rhythms, deep house and downtempo, organizing and promoting numerous club events in Moscow and other cities in Russia with guests including DJ Krush, Gilles Peterson, Jazzanova, Peter Kruder, Ame, 6th Borough Project, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Domu, Bugz In The Attic, Mad Mats and many others.
In 2004 Ilya was chosen to represent Russia at the Red Bull Music Academy which became a spur to continue with his music activities and pushed him on the next level. In 2008 Ilya with his longtime partner in crime Dimitri Studitsky aka Dimitri from Moscow went to produce a double mix-compilation “Diggin’ Compost” with a selection from the catalogue of Compost Records which was licensed for the Russian market at that time.
Now, he’s making music, including a remix for the Jamaican singer Rob Symeonn, which can be heard on this mix. Kick back and play this one loud!
